These terms cover our website and shop (Part 1), group classes (Part 2), wedding ring workshops (Part 3), jewellery repairs (Part 4) and how we look after your information (Part 5).
This website is run by Enki Birmingham Ltd (company number 12909540), 30 High Street, Kings Heath, Birmingham B14 7JT. Email [email protected] or call 0121 444 4453. By ordering from us you agree to these terms.
Prices include VAT. Your order is accepted when we email to confirm it's been dispatched. If an item turns out to be out of stock or mispriced, we'll tell you and refund you in full.

| UK | Express (not the Highlands and Islands) | £8.95 | Usually 1–2 working days |

Delivery for larger items and furniture is worked out at checkout. We usually dispatch the next working morning, or the same day for orders before 9am. Gift wrapping can add a day in busy times. Delivery times are estimates from Royal Mail and aren't guaranteed.
You can cancel within 14 days of receiving your order, without giving a reason. Email us to tell us, then send the item back within a further 14 days, unused and in its original condition. We'll refund you within 14 days of receiving it, including the standard delivery cost you paid. You pay the return postage; we recommend a tracked service, as we can't refund a parcel that doesn't reach us.
Things we can't take back unless faulty:
If something arrives faulty, damaged or not as described, tell us within 30 days for a full refund, or later for a repair or replacement. This doesn't affect your legal rights.
Call 0121 444 4453 or email us as soon as possible and we'll refund you in full.
Shop gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from purchase, can't be exchanged for cash, and work like cash, so keep them safe. Class vouchers are sold by Enki Workshop, can't be used in the shop, and have their own terms (see Part 2).
We try to keep everything on the site accurate and up to date, but colours and sizes can vary slightly from photos, and handmade items vary from piece to piece. Links to other websites are for your convenience; we aren't responsible for their content.
If we break these terms, we're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that was a foreseeable result. We don't exclude liability where it would be unlawful to, such as for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
Your personal data is handled as set out in our Privacy Policy (Part 5).
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. We may update them from time to time; the version on this page when you order is the one that applies.
Classes, wedding ring workshops and jewellery repairs (Parts 2 to 4) are provided by Enki Workshop, 30 High Street, Kings Heath, Birmingham B14 7JT. Enki Workshop is not VAT-registered, so no VAT is added to its prices.
These apply to every class booked with us, in the shop, by phone, on our website or through Ticket Tailor. If you booked through ClassBento, their refund terms apply to your payment; everything else here still applies on the day.
Your place is confirmed once you've paid. Classes are for a set date and time, so the 14-day cooling-off period for online purchases doesn't apply; the cancellation terms below do instead.
If you need to cancel or change:
| When you tell us | What you can have |
|---|---|
| Within 14 days of booking, and the class is more than 14 days away | Move to another date, or a full refund |
| More than 14 days after booking, and the class is more than 14 days away | Move to another date, or a 50% refund |
| The class is less than 14 days away | No changes or refunds, but you can send someone else in your place (just tell us their name) |
If you paid with a gift voucher, any refund goes back onto your voucher rather than to your card.
A class needs at least 6 people to run. Jewellery classes take up to 8 people and craft classes 12 to 16. If a class is under-booked, or we have to cancel for any other reason such as tutor illness, we'll tell you as soon as we can and offer another date or a full refund, whichever you prefer. We can't cover other costs such as travel or parking.
Jewellery classes are for ages 15 and over, because they use sharp tools and heat. Other classes show their age limit on the listing. Under-16s must come with a responsible adult, and young people are welcome at some craft classes (the class listing will say which).
Some classes use flames, hot metal, sharp tools and chemicals. Please follow your tutor's instructions, wear closed shoes, tie back long hair and tell us beforehand about anything that might affect you, such as pregnancy or a health condition. We may ask anyone who isn't following safety instructions to stop.
We provide biscuits and hot and soft drinks at group classes, and cake and drinks at wedding ring classes. Please tell us about allergies or dietary needs when you book, or at least 7 days before, so we can plan. Our kitchen handles nuts, gluten and dairy, so we can't guarantee food is free from allergens.
You take home what you make on the day, unless your class description says it needs finishing, hallmarking or firing afterwards; we'll tell you when it's ready to collect. Handmade pieces will show signs of being handmade; that's part of their charm.
We love sharing photos of classes and what people make. When you book, we'll ask whether you're happy for photos you appear in to go on our website and social media. We'll only post photos where you can be recognised if you said yes. We may share wider shots where people aren't the focus, such as hands at work or the room; if you'd rather not appear in any photos, take a "no photos" sticker on the day. You can change your mind at any time, and we'll take down photos of you if you ask. For under 16s we need a parent's yes.
Please arrive 5 minutes early so we can start on time. If you're running late, call us on 0121 444 4453. You can still join, but the class will finish at the usual time and we can't refund the time you've missed. If you're very late, you'll have missed the demonstration, so depending on the class and how busy it is, we may not be able to let you join.
Gift vouchers for classes are valid for 12 months and have their own terms, which explain how to book and what happens if you need to change.
These apply alongside Part 2. You'll be asked to confirm you agree to these terms before paying the workshop fee.
The workshop fee is £450 per couple. Metal, hallmarking and any extras (stones, engraving, casting, textures that need preparing) are quoted separately, once you've chosen your designs.
The £450 workshop fee is paid in full when you book, to secure your date. Half the cost of your materials is due 4 weeks before your class so we can order your metal, and the rest when you collect your rings. If the materials payment is late, we may not be able to get your chosen metal in time and will offer the closest alternative.
Precious metal prices change daily, and your materials quote is based on the price on the day we write it. If the price has moved by more than 10% when we buy your metal, we'll contact you before ordering. You can then go ahead at the new price, choose a different metal or width, or cancel your materials order.
Please confirm your final design, sizes and metal at least 4 weeks before the class so we can order everything. We'll measure your ring sizes in the shop.
If your ring needs to sit next to an engagement ring, we'll need to keep the engagement ring for up to a week before your class so we can shape your ring around it. We keep it securely while it's with us. We can't make a wed-fit ring without the engagement ring itself.
Please leave at least 6 weeks between your class and your wedding (8 weeks for platinum), for hallmarking and finishing. If your class is closer to the wedding than that, there's a £50 surcharge, to cover our time for extra trips to the Jewellery Quarter. Any extra charges for faster services from our suppliers, such as express hallmarking or casting, are added on top at cost. Stones or engraving may not be possible in time.
Your rings will look professionally made, and no one will be able to tell they were your first. Like all handmade jewellery, they may show small signs of being made by hand, which is what makes them yours. All rings wear over time, so think about your lifestyle when you choose your metal, and we'll happily advise.
Please mention any problems before you leave the workshop. Extra work you ask for afterwards is charged at £30 an hour.
Once hallmarked and finished, collect your rings from the shop any day 10am–5pm, or we can post them by Royal Mail Special Delivery, insured, at cost.
The £450 workshop fee is non-refundable, because we arrange staff cover and set the workshop aside for you, but you can move your date (below). Anything you've paid towards materials is refunded, less any cost we can't recover: metal that's been cut can only be sold back as scrap.
You can move your class once at no charge if you tell us at least 4 weeks before. With less notice we'll try to help, but we may not be able to if staff cover is already arranged.
If we have to cancel, you can choose another date or a full refund of everything you've paid.
By leaving or posting an item with us, you agree to these terms. We'll give you a drop-off note listing what we're doing.
We'll give you a price before starting, or tell you it's "to be quoted" and contact you once we've looked closely. We won't start until you agree. If we find something unexpected once we start, we'll stop and check with you before going further. If you decide not to go ahead, we may charge for work already done.
Usually about two weeks. Jobs that need casting, plating or specialist parts can take longer; we'll give you an estimated date. Tell us if you have a deadline and we'll do our best.
We treat your jewellery like our own family heirlooms, but old or worn metal can crack, and solder joints from earlier repairs can open. If this happens through no fault of ours, we'll tell you and quote for the extra work.
Stones can have hidden flaws and may crack, chip or come loose during work, especially when claws are re-tipped or stones are removed. We can't be responsible for stone damage that isn't our fault, but we'll always agree any resetting or replacement with you first.
Bending metal back into shape can sometimes break it, especially if there are stones and we can't heat (anneal) the piece first. If that happens, we'll quote you for the repair before doing anything else.
Some silver doesn't take well to laser welding. If yours is one of those, we'll let you know and you can decide whether to go ahead.
Plated pieces and base metals (brass, copper, alloys) often don't take heat well and may discolour or lose plating. We'll tell you if we can't repair something safely.
We engrave exactly the wording, spelling and layout you approve on your job sheet, so please check it carefully. Engraving can't be undone, so we can't refund engraving that matches what you approved.
Payment is due on collection, by card, cash or bank transfer. For larger jobs or where we buy parts for you, we may ask for a deposit. Once you've agreed a quote, you're responsible for paying for that work.
Our repairs are guaranteed for 6 months from completion. The guarantee covers the work we did, not accidental damage, wear and tear or other parts of the piece. Fixing something under guarantee doesn't restart the 6 months.
We'll keep or recycle parts and metal we replace, unless you ask for them back before we start.
We keep your jewellery securely while it's with us. If it's lost or damaged while with us through our fault, we'll repair it or pay you its value, up to the value on a valuation or receipt you can show us. Please check your own home insurance covers it too.
We'll tell you when it's ready. Collect any day 10am–5pm, or we can post it by Royal Mail Special Delivery, insured, at cost. Please check it over when you collect.
If an item isn't collected within 3 months of us telling you it's ready, we'll write to you asking you to collect it. If it's still not collected, we'll send a final notice by recorded delivery giving at least 3 more months, after which we may sell it to cover what's owed, and keep any balance for you to claim.
We only collect what we need to sell to you, run your class or repair your jewellery, and we never sell your details.

Bookings for young people must be made by a parent or guardian, who gives us any information we need about them.

Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email us and we'll reply within a month.
